Article 38 Engine and Transmission Install A Photo Essay Regarding installation of the engine and transmission into the car, a few pictures may be worth more than a few thousand words. In brief explanation, I chose to install the engine from below. Here we go!

TRANSMISSION READY TO MATE TO THE ENGINE

AN OVERHEAD RIGGING POINT IS REQUIRED TO GET GOING. I SUPPOSE AN ENGINE HOIST COULD BE USED. WITHOUT THE ENGINE, THE FRONT OF THE CAR DOESN'T WEIGH THAT MUCH.

LIFT UP THE FRAME

SLIDE THE ENGINE ASSY UNDER THE CAR

LINE IT UP

CHECK IT ONE MORE TIME

START TO LOWER

FULLY LOWERED ONTO MOTOR MOUNTS

DONE!

A little fiddling was required to attach the mounting plate for the JT5 transmission but once that was complete, the job was done. It took less than an hour!
